Without question, the winner of Wednesday’s Republican debate was Barack Obama. This wasn’t apparent at the beginning; during the first forty minutes, Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul argued about earmarks, and made the usual promise to cut taxes, cut spending, and magically balance the budget. But by the end of the event, the candidates had revealed their hostility toward women and Latinos, and further ensured that they would stay on Obama’s side into he fall.

It wasn’t actually until after the first commercial break that moderator John King asked the candidates about the elephant in the room—birth control. And, after Gingrich went through the usual motion of insulting King for posing the question, the candidates embarked on a fantastic voyage of obfuscation, dishonesty, and outright attacks on women’s health.

What a clown show. They're running on aspirin for contraception and voluntary taxes from the wealthy. And the peanut gallery cheers them on.

For the best. President Obama was and is far better suited to the Oval Office than those pampered bickering hypocrite extremist whack jobs from opposite the political fence. No one in their right mind would back any from that pack of rw phoney baloney hate spewing bigots which is all they're about or attract.

I saw the debate and I didn't think they attacked latinos. I don't remember thinking to myself, damn they really hate brown people. I only watched because I live in AZ and was hoping to hear what they would do with the border situation here in AZ, and what they said was not completely crazy.

Ron Paul suggested using troops no longer fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan to help secure the border. Newt wants two 35 ft fences and a more open and faster legal way to come to the country. Rick and Mitt, I don't remember exactly what they said, but they all agreed that we need to do a better job of securing the border. I liked Newts ideas the best, I do remember thinking that.

By the way, my parents are Mexican, I am not a Republican and I am not rich. Before anyone calls me a Repub or gNOp'er or whatever.
